Privacy policy

WageMap collects no personal information. No accounts. No tracking. Here's exactly what we do and don't do.

Short version: WageMap does not require an account, does not collect your name or email, and does not sell any data. Search queries you enter are processed locally in your browser. We may use anonymous, aggregate analytics to understand site usage — no personal identifiers are stored or sold.

2. What we collect

Information you do not need to provide

WageMap does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information to use any feature of the site. All salary tools run in your browser.

Search queries

Job title and city searches you enter are used only to retrieve salary data and are processed locally in your browser via the BLS public API. We do not log, store, or associate your search queries with any identifier.

Anonymous analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools (such as Plausible Analytics or similar) that collect aggregate, anonymized data including page views, referral sources, browser type, and country-level location. No IP addresses are stored. No cross-site tracking occurs. This data is used only to understand which features are used and to improve the site.

Cookies

WageMap does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Any cookies used are strictly functional (e.g., remembering your city preference across sessions) and contain no personal identifiers.

3. What we do not collect

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information
  • Financial information of any kind
  • Government ID, Social Security numbers, or tax information
  • Your actual salary unless you voluntarily enter it into a calculator tool — this is processed locally and never transmitted to our servers
  • Precise geolocation data
  • Behavioral profiles or advertising identifiers

4. Third-party services

WageMap queries the following third-party APIs to retrieve salary data. These are U.S. government services governed by their own privacy policies:

Queries to these APIs may include your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. This is governed by the respective agency's privacy policy, not ours.

5. Data sharing and sale

StormGlass Interactive Inc. does not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for commercial purposes. We do not participate in advertising networks or data broker programs.

6. Children's privacy

WageMap is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us at support@stormglassinteractive.com.

7. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about any data that may have been inadvertently collected, contact us and we will investigate promptly.

8. Security

WageMap is served over HTTPS. All data displayed is public government data. Since we store no personal information, there is no personal data at risk in the event of a security incident.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the updated date below. Continued use of WageMap after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
